PATRONAL FEAST CELEBRATION

What a grand celebration of the liturgy occurred today as we remembered the very beginnings of Our Lady of Victory parish as a mission church with the dedication of a cornerstone for the first church, then named St. Agnes Church, in Glen Echo. Three choirs sang during the liturgy: the growing choir, the children's choir and the Filippine community choir. Present for a full church were those who remained home for the holiday weekend, the Croatian Catholic Mission of St. Blaise, and the Filippine community. The music, the upbeat spirit helped us celebrate our beginnings.

After the liturgy there was a "hefty" brunch in Hess Auditorium with absolutely delicious foods made by a number of parish families. The Filippine Community won first prize, in my estimation, for the outstanding native dishes that were served.
