Is The Party Over?

Today some of the NY brethren met with the Archbishop. I suspect the anonymous writers of the strong letter must have been sitting on the proverbial pins and needles during the time the Presbyteral Council met with Cardinal Egan. Well, it seems that these priests failed to realize one important fact: getting a group to turn against a leader, especially when the group is composed of men who promise their Ordinary "obedience and respect." Psychologically it seem most priest would find it very difficult to live with the reality that they had upset a sitting Cardinal. They are well aware of the consequences for the people of God. So, it was not surprising that the group came forth from the residence on Madison Avenue ready to give its support to the Archbishop. Fortunately finding hemlock juice is quite difficult even in Gotham-town.
Healing? Now comes the challenge that is far beyond what most of the signers expected. At this point all the power seems to be in the Archbishop.
We shall watch.
