Continuing a look at the first chapter of the new AC (Adult Catechism) first chapter, "My Soul Longs for You, O God," we are offered a solution to how we come to understand our soul's longing to be united to our creator, our God. The AC teaches us that we must be open to goodness and truth. For us, however, this is not so easy. Ours is, in so many ways, a culture saturated with relativism. The AC's definition of relativism is: "the position that there is no objective truth, only subjective opinions." (p. 525) When we endeavor to be open to goodness and truth, to what we see and accept as moral goodness, to the voice of conscience, we will come to realize that it is only a loving God that we will discover as the origin of our soul, a God who is Himself goodness and truth.
