DAILY REFLECTION SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7th

In the first reading of today's liturgy, from the Acts of the Apostles, we read of a time when the apostles and others, including Mary, the mother of Jesus, gathered in one accord to pray. As we celebrate our patronal feast day, Our Lady of the Rosary, we might relfect on the prayer of the rosary. Our goal in this early life is to build a genuine and intimate relationship with Jesus, our God, our brother. The rosary affords you and me a fine opportunity to approach Jesus through a quiet reflection on the "mysteries" of the life of Jesus while praying for the intercession of his mother. One serious question you might ask yourself: "When did I last pray the rosary?" All of us slip away from devotional practices. Might not this celebration be an especially good time to renew the practice if it has been one of these devotions that has been collecting dust in our spiritual closet? I hope you will do that ... the parish needs all the graces God will give it. Your praying the rosary will, through the intercession of Mary, bring goodness to us.
