Picking up from yesterday's thoughts about the relationship of revelation to the culture we find around us today, let's looks at our current culture a little.
Consider, if you will, how religion has been side-lined by the current prevailing interpretation of the 1st Amendment. The AC (Adult Catechism) calls our society in many aspects a fomentor of a "culture of disbelief." Public actions of religion are pushed aside as disruptive. Public practice of one's faith seems to becoming more and more a threat to our society and, seemingly, to politics which has moved beyond itself and made it the religion of the Masses.
Evangelize! Evangelize! Evangelize! Bring the Gospel into this weakened society of ours. Invest time and energy in the positive that exists among us. This a a true sense of evangelization. For evangelization to be successful first and foremost: convert or evangelize ourselves. Until we have an intimate relationship with Jesus, will we find a genuine desire to bring goodness, truth, and love to our society. We have to make these gospel realities as our motivator. We must ensure what is good by removing injustice and what is not the truth. If this sounds serious, it is: evangelization is not quick and easy project. Our challenge today is to rebuild deep insights into the mysteries of faith by trying to learn more and more about what has been revealed to us. Monday will bring us to Chapter Three.
