APPARENT GREAT UNREST

Edward Cardinal Egan
You may read in the NY Times tomorrow or the day after, that there is great unrest within the Archdiocese of New York. A letter was sent to each priest asking for a vote of No Confidence in the current Archbishop of New York, Edward Cardinal Egan. We have not experienced anything similar to this in the time I have been in seminary and priesthood. To the outsider but nonetheless a priest, I find the document difficult a cause of great unrest in my own heart both for the priests of New York as well as the Archbishop. If you wish to read the document, on Google search for Whispers in the Loggia. Once there and connected to the blog site, you will find a copy of the letter. I believe we need as priests, deacons, religious and laity to offer a prayer for peace in the hearts of those who seemingly have been hurt and the Archbishop.
