November Mass Intentions

Beginning November 2nd, all weekday Masses celebrated at Our Lady of Victory parish will be offered for the faithful departed. At each Mass a portion of the names submitted for inclusion in the Book of Remembrance will be read at each of the Masses. A member of the congregation attending a Mass will be asked to come forward to read a page of names from the remembrance book at the conclusion of the Prayers of the Faithful.
On November 2nd, the reader will announce the names of those parishioners or former parishioners who have died since November 2nd of 2005.
Names will be read at the Vigil and Sunday Masses. The first intentions on those days are always reserved for (1) the Pastor of the parish to offer the "Pro Populo" Mass and (2) for the personal intentions required of the priests.
(1) Each Pastor is required by Canon Law to offer one Mass each week for the people of the Parish.
(2) Priests are required to offer Masses for special intentions mandated by their religious order or arch/diocese. Sunday Masses afford this opportunity for them during the month of November.
