DAILY CATECHISM STUDY October 11, 2006

God made us and calls us to himself. That from the new Adult Catechism does have the ring of the old Baltimore Catechism, doesn't. "I am made to know, love and serve God." The inner voice that asks questions about my existence reflects a fundamental search to know my creator. Isn't that why I ask, "Who am I?" How am I to live in this world? Why is there a power that causes me inner pain, inner struggle? And "What is next after this life?" These questions bring me ultimately to ask questions about God's existence. It is in God's searching us out that I am drawn like a magnet to search for him. The Adult Catechism offers us three pathways that can lead us to make the discovery that will help us create that heart of at rest that Augustine speaks about: creation, the human person and Revelation. These avenues bring us to know the Creator God.
