Golfing Report

Just to let you know that my golfing expedition was superb. One of the men in our foursome, a leader of the CHAD (Cardinal Hickey Academy Dads) group in Calvert County, was my partner and instructor. Steve Bigelow was a patient teacher. Someone asked me: "Did you have a great time?" Well, I learned a lot, truly improved my drives but think it would be easier if I had a secretary to take notes. "Tilt your head to the right so the left eye looks down at the ball, ala Arnold Palmer. Bring the arms back slowly and then drive away with great force. Swing your arms on this shot like a pendulum. This is a bump and run hit. Let you shoulder be your guide. Always look where it is pointing as your address the ball." Is it any wonder many people tire on the course? All kidding aside it was a great day out in God's wonderful creation. I thought of my remarks during the stewardship homily: how could we not remember to be thankful.
