In chapter 19 of the Book of Job, verse 25, we read "But as for me, I know my Vindicator lives." Often associated with funerals, the writer, worn by so many disappointments and frustrations, refuses to give in to the suggestions of friends that he give up on God. He reminds us that despite all God is with us ... especially when we have fallen from the Lord's graces or when we have distanced ourselves from daily prayer. Job prayed that these words "were inscribed in a record: that with an iron chisel and with lead they were cut inthe rock forever!" Words from the heart of a challenged man wanting to leave a record of his unfailing love of God.
