ANNUAL RETREAT

ANNUAL RETREAT
On Sunday afternoon, I will leave for my annual retreat with some other priests of the Archdiocese. During my absence the ever-faithful "retired" priest, Msgr. Duffy will be caring for the parish. I know you will be kind to him. I shall return, halo glowing, on Thursday afternoon. It will be glowing because the retreat master is Jesuit Father Jack Haughey.
During the days that I will be on the mountain top, the Daily Reflections will be suspended.

While I am praying, may I ask that you take a little time each day to say a prayer for me and the other priests making the retreat. Yes, we are praying much more than usual. Yet, it is so well known that your prayers for your pastor during his retreat will be most beneficial. My request is specific: that you ask God to grace me with the gifts of wisdom and leadership during the next year. Each year offers its own challenges and graces. I know that I will need the graces you can gain for me through your prayers. There are some challenging issues that will be in front of us.
