OLV Knights of Columbus One of our Best Meetings

Grand Knight Jim Lonergan into serious conversation with Msgr. Duffy as the Our Lady of Victory Knights of Columbus Council convened at Billy Martin's Tavern in Georgetown this evening (Thursday) to celebrate in an "official" manner the beginning of the summer season.

I use this occasion to extend a serious invitation to the men of the parish to consider joining in with the sixty members of the parish and school community in being members of the Knights of Columbus. In particular I extend this invite to the younger men in the parish. The Knights have been infused with a new spirit under the leadership of Grand Knight Lonergan and his team. As Chaplain of the Council and Pastor, I have found the Knights to be a very faithful and dedicated group of men who enjoy working to help the parish and the school.

In the near future don't be surprise to see a different gathering. The Knights have approved the addition of women to the organization. At the moment there is an experiment being conducted in several councils around the nation to determine if the ladies wish to be members of the K of C as ladies are a part of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre and the Knights of Malta.

I hope that was not the topic when this photo what taken.

Surely I can assure you that was not the topic when this photo was taken of the blogger ... and only one beer was had ... honestly!!!

Come and join a group of professional men who have a great love for their Church and their parish and who enjoy getting together to foster support of one another in the day-to-day living of the Catholic life in our contemporary culture.
