Today, the Holy Father's appointment of Archbishop John Patrick Foley, the President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, as pro-Grand Master of the Equestrian Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem was announced in Rome. Archbishop Foley succeeds Cardinal Carlo Furno who has served as the Grand Master for a number of years. Maybe this appointment is a signal of red things to come with the next group of new "red birds." The Archbishop has been laboring in the Rome vineyard for almost 25 years. Congratulations to the Archbishop. No doubt the Lieutenant of our group will be inviting the Philadelphia native to speak at one of our Holy Sepulchre gatherings.
