North Vietnam Catholics have gathered in prayer recently. Their purpose is to keep Church property. Because we have a wonderful Vietnamese priest with us and, hopefully, are more sensitive to the plight of his people, I call these current days of unrest and pain for our Catholic sisters and brothers in Hanoi, North Viet Nam.
To fully understand the story, I will link you to Whispers In The Loggia's two recent postings. Blogger Palmo has done research. I do not want to reinvent the wheel. For the background to the story, you can read the recent history.

"Whispers" yesterday brought us up to date on the struggle that is happening in Hanoi. The Archbishop there has taken dramatic and seemingly dangerous actions to protect that Catholic people trying to speak out against unjust treatment. Again, turning to "Whispers," I invite you to meet and read about the actions of Archbishop Joseph Ngo Quang Kiet, truly a contemporary shepherd of a flock.
Let us keep the needs of the Catholics of North Viet Nam in our prayers as well as our priest's family who live in Hanoi.
Again thanks to Whispers in the Loggia for the pictures and the information.
