The Archdiocese has provided an explanation in a January 25th notice of the process and decision concerning the closing of two archdiocesan elementary schools. It is worth the read in understanding how Archbishop Wuerl and his staff address the closure issue. Unfortunately the two schools being closed had been dealing with severe financial shortfalls. It is a notice to all that the Archdiocese, in the person of the Archbishop, after extensive consultation, will close an Archdiocesan operation especially when financial support has failed.
