Today we commemorate the 1st anniversary of the death of Msgr. Harry Echle who served the the Archdiocese of Washington throughout his life and Sibley Hospital for 35 years while living and working at Our Lady of Victory Parish.
We also pray in thanksgiving for the very special gift he left the parish in his will ... surely gifts from his family and his brother, a deceased priest of the Archdiocese of Baltimore ... a gift of $100,000 which help us reduce our parish debt to Chevy Chase Bank from $235,000 to $100,000 with $35,000 help from our savings account, the parish grammar school and a little from our parish operating account.We pray, as he would want, "Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. Amen."
